Graduated from Vancouver Island University with a Bachelor of Arts Major in Visual Arts, Alisha Yarham explores and experiments when producing photography. Her work consists of single and group portraiture, landscape in the natural and industrial environments, wildlife, colour and grey scale (black and white) imagery. Her other passions for art have been material based, she believes that the viewer collaborates with the art works. Her photography and art relate to her passion and experiences in life. Alisha produces her photography to express her emotions, thoughts and to narrate her experiences. In her other works of art, she likes to follow the concepts of the movements Art Deco, Pop Art and Abstract Expressionism. All these movements show vibrant and bold colours which is a large interest in Alisha’s works. She has been interested in Andy Warhol and his approach to his art works as they are influenced by advertisements and include bright colours. Alisha works in various mediums including photography, painting, charcoal, art markers and wood, and likes to work in the areas of black and white photos, abstract drawing, oil and acrylic painting. In the future, she would like to further her skills and widen the area of materials used. In photography, Alisha has previously worked on black and white positive images and wants to continue to challenge herself in this field. Recently, she has challenged herself further by using coloured filter gels and focussing towards a more abstract approach to photography. She wants to expand her horizon and to gain as much experience in photography as she can for herself and her business.
